| The $20 million Workshops Rail Museum, a campus of the Queensland
Museumm is not what you would call your 'everyday Museum'. It isn't
a quiet place, with everything from huge steam locomotives to massive,
one-tonne hammers that make stacks of noise.
Built on the historic site of the birthplace of rail in Queensland,
The Workshops Rail Museum is a Museum to have fun in and learn all
about rail in Queensland through touching, driving, playing on and
with all sorts of amazing rail equipment. Take a Behind the Scenes
Tour of the Working Workshops, the oldest continually operating
railway workshops in Australia, and see QR workers busily maintaining
and restoring QR's Heritage Rollingstock.
Events at The Workshops Rail Museum include Friends of Thomas,
Ipswich Model Railway Show, Wizards and Witches Express, Circus
Train, Bunny Eggventures, Santa Sunday and the Annual Workers Reunion.
Upgrade to an Annual Pass Membership when you visit (equivalent
to only two visits) which entitles you to free entry throughout
the year, free entry to other campuses of Queensland Museum (charges
may apply to temporary exhibitions), 10% discount in the Museum
Shop and 10% discount in Trackside Café.

| Willowbank Raceway |
Willowbank Raceway is located 30 - 45 minutes west of Brisbane,
in Queensland, Australia. We offer a year round program of drag
racing entertainment for the whole family. Six major events are
held annually with a variety of features including Top Fuel, the
kings of the sport. The supercharged action of Top Doorslammer and
Supercharged Outlaws. Pro Stock vehicles, Top Fuel Motorcycles and
Pro Stock Bikes and the Funny Car & Dragster excitement of Top
Alcohol. Willowbank presently runs the two national events on the
Australian Drag Racing Calendar. The Winternationals, held over
the three days of the Queen's Birthday holiday weekend in June and
the Australian Drag Racing Nationals, the oldest Australian Drag
racing event is held in November each year. Willowbank Raceway also
stages a variety of street oriented events on a regular basis. This
enables the enthusiast to try out the performance of their vehicle
under safe, controlled conditions. Racing is conducted mainly on
Saturday and Wednesday nights throughout the year. A full calendar

| Queens Park |
| Queens Park is located on the corner
of Limestone St as you come in to the City of Ipswich. It is well
maintained and offers a wide variety of things to do for the young
and the young at heart. You will find a large play area. Lookout
that has views of the Ipswich area from Limestone Hill. A kiosk,
the popular Japanese Nerima Gardens.
You can also pay a visit to the Wildlife reserve where you can see
bird life. Kangaroos and emus as well as other animals. Stroll through
the reserve and observe these creatures closely. There is also a
bush Chapel where may Ipswich couples have chosen as their site
to marry. The Queens Park in Ipswich is worth a visit during your
stay in Ipswich.

| Woodend Nature Centre
|
The Woodend Nature Centre is located on the banks of the Bremer
River close to the Ipswich CBD. A Flying Fox colony roosts along
a gully in Woodend as part of the reserve. The Woodend nature reserve
was established in 1994.There is a large viewing deck, which allows
excellent viewing of the flying foxes colony. Prime viewing time
is fly out, which is late afternoon to dusk. To arrive at the Woodend
nature Centre leaving Ipswich CBD towards Harlin Rd, In the Suburb
of Woodend and turn into Williams st. Parking is provided for up
to 8 cars.
